Cloud or Data Center?

Here is an easy guide so that you know if you are on a Cloud or Data Center environment

1. Check the URL

   1. If you are on Cloud your URL will look similar to this: https://yourcompany.atlassian.net

   2. If you are on Data Center, your URL will look similar to this: https://jira.yourcompany.com

2. Look at the System Information

   1. Go to Jira Settings (⚙️ gear icon) → System.

   2. Scroll to System Info or go directly to /secure/admin/ViewSystemInfo.jspa.

      1. What to look for:

         1. Cloud: This page is very limited on Cloud and does not display Java version, OS, etc.

         2. Data Center: Displays extensive technical details such as:

            • Application server info

            • Java version

            • Database details

            • License type: Often says "Data Center"

3. Check license details:

   1. ⚙️ Jira Settings → Billing or License Details

      • Cloud: Will indicate "Cloud Standard", "Cloud Premium", or "Cloud Enterprise".

      • Data Center: Will say "Data Center" under the license type.
